About Katie

Katie first came to the mat 18 years ago to counterbalance a busy career in TV production. In between contracts, she would spend months travelling around India, in awe of it’s culture; practising and deepening her understanding of yoga and it’s philosophy. In 2012, Katie decided to leave TV and commit to her first TTC in India - which was life changing. Since then, Katie has completed 630 hrs of yoga training in Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin, Pre and Post Natal and remains a curious student, continually bringing fresh inspiration to her classes in London and her retreats around the world.

Katie's expressive teaching style draws on the ups and downs of life. Creative sequencing and thoughtful cues are central to both her movement-based and restorative classes. She believes yoga and the practice of self-study, roots deeper than the physical body and her classes place an emphasis on the mind-body-breath connection - and working with, not against, emotions. Her aim is to create a strong, friendly community feel that welcomes all people, all bodies with warmth, love and a big smile: an antidote to busy, non-stop lives. She encourages people to be bold and brave in their choices on and off the mat - to choose rest - often, and to move - with truth and authenticity.

“I have been practicing with Katie for several years now attending her classes in Camberwell. I've also been lucky enough to take some private classes with Katie in our local park. I have practiced with dozens of teachers in South East London but there is something special about Katie. She manages to make her classes feel accessible and playful without undermining the contemplative nature of the practice. She has great energy and plays great music. And - perhaps best of all - her class feels like a little community. It's the only yoga class that I go to where I have got to know people's names - which I love. I hope I'll be able to keep practicing with Katie until I'm an old lady. Thank you Katie!”
